In the 1960s, Ian Baird started experimenting with an innovative underwater process to make one-of-a-kind candles in Venice Beach, CA. Half a century later, Wendy Polish has developed her fathers creation into Le Feu De L’eau, named after the union of fire and water.

Making candles since 1968, Le Feu De L'Eau is a Los Angeles based, family-owned candle studio founded by Wendy Polish and Jo Strettell. A diverse team of skilled candlemakers, designers, and artisans who work together to create, pour, and ship their exquisite candles from two locations: Los Angeles and Atascadero, CA.

At Le Feu De L'Eau, they are driven by their passion for crafting high-quality candles. They constantly strive for excellence by exclusively using the finest ingredients and materials. Sustainability is at the core of their values, which is why they maintain small-scale production, employ recycled packaging, repurpose scraps, and collaborate with local vendors.

Le Feu De L’Eau / 'The fire of the water' honors their unique process.

Recognized by renowned publications including Vogue, Architectural Digest, The New York Times, GQ, Forbes, Marie Clare, Domino, The Strategist, Martha Stewart, and Remodelista, Le Feu De L'Eau has made its mark in the industry through its exceptional craftsmanship and innovative designs.
